  1. I was shopping at the Macy’s in the CherryVale Mall, Cherry Valley, IL on Thursday, September 3rd. As I walked into the store, I noticed most of the employees were either NOT wearing masks or were wearing them improperly. I went to the fragrance counter at the entrance to the mall. The older woman there was wearing her mask under her nose. I very casually explained to her that it wasn’t doing any good unless she covered her nose. She proceeded to tell me that there was no COVID, it was just the flu!!!! I walked away and was NOT going to buy anything from her or touch anything from her. As I proceeded towards the main exit to outside, I saw a tall blonde employee in the purse dept wearing her mask UNDER her chin. Her associate had her mask under her nose. The jewelry dept employee was properly wearing her mask. I left the store then. I was upset b/c I wanted to buy the new My Way fragrance and I wanted a new Michael Kors purse. I like to try fragrances and see the purse. Where we live, our COVID infections are rising and I was SHOCKED that your employees were not being proactive in preventing your shoppers from getting COVID. I will never enter that Macy’s again. I do not understand why your supervisory staff is not walking around the store making sure employees are wearing their masks. The store was NOT busy at all. I am a preferred customer and I didn’t feel very “cared about” actually being in the store. When businesses in our county are not judicious in mask wearing, our county health dept shuts the stores down. I suggest you take steps to educate your employees about mask wearing and ask your supervisors to be diligent making sure the employees WEAR their mask and do so properly.

  2. I just heard that you are closing the Marlow Heights,MD store. Is there any way you could keep it open. We seniors in this neighborhood need this store plus we LOVE this store. We have nothing else out here that can serve our needs. We’re too old to to shop internet and can’t do a lot of driving. Please rethink the situation! Speaking for customers that have supported Macys for over 50 years.Thank you very much…Mrs Dora L Robinson..

  3. I purchased 4 items online, I understand the items will be will be shipped separately. I had concerns because some of the items were ceramic, so I called to ask if I could pick up in store. The customer rep told me that option was not available. I received 1 of the items and it was broken. I called Macy’s to address this issue. The customer rep I spoke to told me there was no need to send it back, she would cancel the order and re order it with expedited shipping, which I would not have to pay for. She took my information, placed the order and told I would be receiving the item in 2-3 days, and I would get an email with the new order and tracking number. I checked my email a few hours later and there was no email. I called back and was told that the order was cancelled and not reordered. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who cut me off while i was speaking to her and put on the music. I waited for 15 mins and she never came back. I called back and was sent to another supervisor, who acted like there was on problem. She just your order was cancelled and the item is no longer available, and there is nothing she could do. I asked if she knew who took the call and could she find out from them why they told me that the item was ordered and would be arriving in 2-3 days. She came back and said the rep was on another call. This is unacceptable, Macy’s should have better service reps and supervisors who could address customers issues better. I truly believe i was not speaking to a supervisor, just another rep passing off as a supervisor. Shame on Macy’s.
    Very unsatisfied customer!!

    • I totally understand your frustrations because I just experienced the same situation! You do not expect to receive this type of service from Macy’s!! Very disappointed and I’m e-mailing the CEO and see if I can get the answers needed for my order that was placed!! The rep asked me if I had any suggestions on how to resolve the situation… a loaded question… disgusted at the level of service!

Apparently you are not for America and Free Speech.

We will not be shopping in your stores anymore unless you reconsider.

  5. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. I have been dealing with Macys since early January on some furniture I purchased. Still haven’t received the furniture and keep being told the furniture will be in in two weeks. Every time I call back after two weeks I’m told a different story. And there’s a lot more regarding my order. It’s just been the biggest nightmare and nobody has been able to help me. DO NOT GO INTO YOUR LOCAL STORE AND ORDER FURNITURE.

  6. I was waited on by a nice gentleman named Anthony at the Macy’s in Overland Park Ks at the Oak Park Mall and I just want to say that he is EVERYTHING that a Lancome rep should be. He is so knowledgeable, friendly and honest! He helped me pick the right colors for my skin and had wonderful suggestions and soft selling approach. He should be recognized for being such a perfect employee. I wish I knew his last name but he is larger caucasion guy and just the sweetest thing to talk to. I hope this gets to his boss and he knows that someone will always be lifelong customer because of this great customer service.

  9. Macy’s lost fifteen items from our daughter’s wedding registry. Our daughter updated the delivery address, but Macy delivered items to the old address anyway. We know the items returned them to the warehouse. Macy claimed they notified the customers and refunded the purchase; Macy’s did neither. Now there is radio silence.

  10. I understand that many brick and mortar store are struggling during this Pandemic. However what I fail to understand is when you have loyal customers for over 50 years and you are unable to survive one pandemic. It seems like a good practice to invest in your stores annually so if an unforeseen event occurs you can survive. Many in corporate employees want the six figures and yet fail to employ valuable associates. I do not like ordering clothing and bedding on line and looking at the ones who are ordering their clothes on-line do not know the proper size and too lazy to exchange. I love my mall going out to shop I am able to feel different materials an color. However management has failed us as loyal customers. You failed to invest in your stores you will not update the bathrooms, replace carpet or design new dressing rooms yet you want our support. The staff is horrible kids on the cell, nowhere to be found for assistance, dressed improperly. We are the state capital of Florida population is not large but you have loyal customers. This is not the Macys I know – Incase you forgot take look at Dillards a much better experience.

  11. Received a gift, men’s clothing, merchandise tags still on the items and return stickers on the bottom of the label. Spent over 40 minutes on phone with CS requesting a return label. The 3 people I was speaking with were in a foreign country, two of them were very difficult to understand. They were not Macy’s employees, they worked for a sub contractor that Macy’s has hired to do this task. Most would give up, I am writing a letter to the CEO, for several reasons including does he know what is occurring with his CS. Bottom line if I did not have a sales receipt they would not send me a UPS label to my e mail account, they did not understand privacy and the return process in the USA. This is a very il conceived process to make the return very painful and impossible

  13. I was in Macy’s for the last time EVER to purchase a suit. I asked where I could try on the suit on and was told there were no more fitting rooms. I said how do I get it altered I was told that they l could get it done at a dry cleaners. Has the CEO fell a sleep at the wheel? Most mom and pop places are gone CD1 has taken over. I asked how do I know what pants to get if I can try them on, I was told I would have to buy them and go to the 3rd floor into the bathroom, I replied a filthy bathroom? I said maybe you or the store manager or CEO should go eat their lunch, but I am not trying them on in a dirty bathroom. I walked over to Nordstrom’s and they had nothing liked or that was reasonable, especially sinceI need it for an interview ” Nice way to treat the fir5st responders and healthcare workers” and yes I work in a hospital. I bought it in hopes I could find a tailor.

Well no luck, so I wore an old suit I had still was decent and decided to return the suit, the store clerk was there and remembered me, I said I couldn’t find a tailor and wanted to return the suit. she mentioned that I could get it done at Bloomingdales in the same mall, I asked why didn’t you mention that the first time. So she gave me a name and I said I would go in a few days since it was late already and had a long day. Well I go into Bloomingdales and they said sorry we do not do that, I said I was told by someone at Macy’s you would, they said no I asked to speak with the store manager. She called and the manager never came down, so aggravated as I was, I looked up the corporate office and got NY, a store where I explained and the person the CEO doesn’t talk to people Ia sked him to give someone my number. “BIG JOKE” must have laughed and threw it out.

I am not sure who runs this large corporation where 2 stores under the same management controls and get DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, not to mention the stores were empty and here I was spending money since the hospital I work at is closing, YES CLOSING IN A PANDEMIC” where workers lay their lives on the line and provide customer service that MACYS AND BLOOMINDALES should check out. I wonder how they would feel if I walked out and said sorry we do not have the respirator or drug here for your loved one,. try looking in the bathroom there might be some in there for you. I had to push to get it altered which I was charged $90.00 almost a third of what I paid for the suit. The CEO’s of these stores and corporations should be MORITIFED. Thanks but no Thanks I will find some where else to shop even if cost more.

  14. I have experienced the worse customer service with people who are out of the country that can barely speak English. I ordered two formal dresses and I received them the day before my Sons wedding and it had a security tag a bright red one on a pastel pink dress. I ordered two pairs of shoes and they went to a warehouse somewhere and left with the receptionist in the front office. Well I don’t have a front office or a receptionist. I live in a house. I can not bare giving money to a store who treats us like this.

  15. I was in Macy’s in Novi Michigan and it was so sad!!! There were more clothes on the floor than there was on the racks. Especially in their formal evening wear! I remember 8 years ago when we moved to Michigan, I would go to Macy’s for all my formal / gala attire. It is absolutely horrible. Plus…. you can’t try on anything…..I actually saw women buying 5-6 dresses, go to the mall bathrooms try them on and return them!!! This is horrible!!!!! No woman in their right mind would ever purchase an evening gown without trying it own first!!! I left and went to the Clothing Cove in Milford… the ladies there had all the dresses in plastic covers, assorted by color and size and the ladies went and got different sizes, dresses and colors for me. They even assisted me with all the other items…. jewelry, spanx, shoes, etc! Macy’s what’s happened to you???? You really need to get a handle on your stores, or you’re not going to last. So sad!!!!

  16. Del Amo store, Torrance, California.
Why was the Petite department moved downstairs in the almost basement. There is less merchandise for petites. Why only One fitting room. I had to walk from one end of the store to the other to find the one fitting room. I stopped looking for clothes because I got exhausted after walking a few times from one end to the other of the store, it is a large store. What is the reason for ONE fitting room.
Your employee was away from her station so it looked like no was working and I had to find another cashier. I also saw her talking a lot to a coworker who was trying to restock the racks. I am a longtime customer of Macy’s but if you are to survive the damage caused by the pandemic, get it together because the brick and mortar stores will disappear. The experience in Macy’s needs to be a good one but if this continues I may not want to shop. I really love Macy’s so please improve it.

  17. I was in your Macy’s store in Fort Wayne, Indiana, today, May 17, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. I wanted to buy a chair. I walked around the department, found a chair I liked, then spent fifteen minutes hunting a clerk. Finally, in the sheets and pillows department, I found a clerk and asked for help in furniture. She said maybe someone would be in a 5:00 p.m. and I could leave my phone number. Really?? I said, “No, thanks, I’ll go somewhere else.” Then I went to the ladies department, picked out three blouses. I have a Macy’s card but do not carry it with me. The clerk needed my driver’s license, then asked for my SSN. I said I would give the last four numbers. After giving my driver’s license, I didn’t think it was necessary. What’s the deal? Even the courts say you only have to give the last four numbers.

  18. I emailed the Fashion Square mall Macy’s when I learned they stopped carrying a Petites department. I received an email back suggesting that I try short lenghth or crop pants. I’m supposed to wear crop pants as regular pants? I’m supposed to wear short length pants as blouses? I’m more upset now after reading that degrading email. Obviously this person has no idea the difference between short and petite. Obviously this person really does not care about this issue. Then she suggested I hire one of Macys personal shoppers to ” help me with special sizing”. Excuse me…. Special? Seriously, WEAR CROP PANTS AS REGULAR WEAR???????? Perhaps I could also wear children’s sizes for my skirts and dresses? I am copying the email I received and pasting it here to show this asinine comment.
    Dear xx xxxx,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with Macy’s. Your comments are important to us, as they provide us an opportunity to better serve you.

I understand your disappointment that our location is not carrying petite sizing.  The pandemic did affect many areas of the business.  Our location does still carry short lengths as well as crop length.  I do recommend our personal shopper Amy for customers who need help with special sizing.

We appreciate the choice you make to shop at Macy’s and look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the near future.

  19. I tried to buy a mattress priced at $3,500 at your Towson store. The store was dirty, It looked more like a thrift store than what I remembered Macy’s to be like. There was no sales help, other than one young lady that was slowly waiting on the only other customers within sight. After over 30 minutes we left, disappointed and disgusted. Why do you spend huge money on media advertising and then have no ability to sell product. I know your rent isnt free, but you would be better off closing the brick and mortar walking from the lease and liquidating the inventory before you loose everything.

  20. The clothing in the stores in NJ is horrible – junk blouses – slacks – pj’s – etc.- Your vendor’s with contracts for your stores is horrible – CEO – get busy and fix this mess – don’t rely on the COVID thing – enough – get busy – I am a loyal customer for 52 years steady – I held a Bamberger’s card for years before my Macy’s card – love the store – hate lazy CEO’s

  21. The Macy’s in Edina, Minnesota is so dirty. Clothes are on the floor, not folded, and try to find a dressing room that is open and clean is impossible. Checking out is another story. Try to find a register and help is impossible. The few registers I did find were buried under clothes.

  22. I visited the Oakbrook Macy’s store, located at 1 Oakbrook CTR, Oakbrook Illinois on June 3rd
many areas of the stock were cluttered and dirty. The dressing rooms were absolutely disgusting. clothes were piled everywhere including the floor. There were no employees sanitizing or cleaning up. I’ve tried to contact customer service to get an email address to send the pictures I took, but I was connected to someone in the Philippines who could not locate an email address for me and then I was disconnected.
