  1. Please consider following Costco’s lead by making all shoppers wear masks!
    I notice most people do anyway, but I would feel safer and I’m sure your Employees would too, if you went to mandatory Masks!

  2. Mandatory masks for customers in keeping with government suggestions. Saying that you don’t do so because the government isn’t enforcing it is a poor excuse. The government can ill afford the manpower to go check every business to make sure they are in compliance and issue citations/fines, track them, and collect them. This is the time to do the right thing to keep customers safe. If it is an ADA issue, other accommodations can be made. This could be class action material it seems.

  3. Safeway Management,
    Today (07-19-2020), about an hour ago (7:30 pm), I shopped your Lincoln avenue and 16th avenue Yakima Safeway store. After shopping for my five items, I went to the checkout. I was next in line and my items were on the belt. The clerk (Greg?) finished with the lady in front of me, left to go to another checkout where he said as he gestured toward me, “he is too old and not wearing a mask so I cant help him.” The clerk from the other line came over to me and stated “do you have a mask? You have to put it on or leave now.” I responded that I don’t have a mask and I can’t wear one.” Your manager came within 2 feet of me while yelling at me and didn’t have his mask over his nose or mouth. It did cover his neck and part of his lower chin. I asked him why he wasn’t wearing his mask. He then did move it to cover his mouth and nose. I ask if Solomon was there and he said he was the manager. The manager then said “Do you have a health condition so you can’t wear one, why didn’t you tell Greg? We won’t check you out and you have to leave, or we will call 911”. I told the manager “ he left before I could say anything.” I then said in a loud and angered voice directed to your manager and clerk “Thank you for letting the whole store know that I’m old and have a disability. Thank you for singling me out.” I apologize but the response from your employee was “GO FUCK YOURSELF, GET OUT OF THIS STORE AND DON’T COME BACK.” These are the exact words used, in the exact order and they will forever be in my mind when I think of Safeway. I informed them I was leaving a $20 bill on the register, took me 5 items, and left. The items are less than $20 including tax. I attend our local temple with one of your managers, he is a true friend of our family. All three of my children worked part-time in this exact store while they attended college. We have shopped this store for over a decade.
    I sincerely apologize for coming into your store. If I would have simply left my items and walked out none of this would have happened. As the video security is reviewed you have my permission to use it as a training video to create better ways of handling this type of situation.

  4. My name is Mary Ann Weaver. I live in Shelby Mt I have never been so disappointed in a store in my life..Not to long ago my credit card was compramised and 300. dollars was stolen. I have no checks because they get stolen so the bank shut off my card and ordered a new one…In the mean time I went to buy groceries wit checks my bank printed out for me in case I needed something . Now take in mind I have shopped in this store for over 16 years in there at least twice a week…Yesterday I needed groceries for the week-end..but they refused to take a check from me I am 68 years old and borderline diabetic if i dont eat i get sick….My checks were counter checks with no name I have never given them a bad check the entire I have shopped there….Now I would rather drive 25 miles to IGA in conrad to shop…They wouldnt even call the bank to check an see if I had money in my account of course I did never have wrote a bad check on purpose….. Not cool

  5. Last evening around 5:15 or so, I was coming into your Safeway store in Goodyear, AZ., on the corner of Indian School and Litchfield park. This is my neighborhood Safeway, I have shopped there for 14 years, spending on average of 1,000 dollars a month or $12,000 or $13,000 a year. Last night there was a lady in line, she had a big order and it was upon the counter to be checked. She asked the checker if there was a mask policy since the two people behind her moving into her cart and not recognizing the feet marked on the floor for distancing, carrying a dog. The man, if you could call a person that acts like him, a man, he was male in gender. He starting screaming at this 70+-year-old woman dropping the F-bomb at least 40 times. Yelling at her to mind her own business (wearing a mask and butting into someone in line is our business, it is unhealthy, there is a mask law in this State). He yelled he would cut her head off and run her off the road into a ditch and light her on fire. I have never seen anything like this in my life. I am 74, but extremely capable. The lady started shaking, she was talking very low to the cashier and asked her to please call the police. To this point, no one in Safeway had asked him to step back, to leave the store, to do anything. I feel sorry for the checkers, they are young girls and cannot go against a man who is obviously crazy. I left the store, I happened to know the lady it happened to so I called to check on her. She was incredibly upset. I called the store manager today and he basically said “there is nothing I can do about it, we called the police –yes after the lady asked you to call.” The police said that the store does not have really good surveillance and essentially told us to shop at Walmart which does have good surveillance and policies. When my friend called the Safeway manager, he said “enjoy shopping at Walmart.” I do not feel at all safe in this store. I had an incident with a carry-out guy a month ago. The store manager did fix that because so many people witnessed it. I went back to Safeway to get the things in there I needed, the checkers are still talking about it today. It was the most awful thing I have ever witnessed in a store, I have traveled and lived in other places in the world, this is outrageous. Safeway needs to provide a security person within the store and require masks to be worn or ask them to leave and shop elsewhere. Now you have not only lost my friend’s business but probably mine as well. I have to feel secure when going to my grocery store. Fry’s offers security and they are only a mile away. I detest Walmart, but they do have security at the door checking people coming in. You really need to address this specific situation. You can reach me at my email address.     Here’s a thought for Healthy, Fresh Essentials…Stop using Partially Hydrogenated Oil and Palm Oil (LARD) in your “Fresh Bakery” goods of which I buy none. Those ingredients clog your Arteries & over time contributes to having a Stroke & Heart Attack!
    On the mainland, your Companies are conscious of Healthy Eating choices that includes Organic, Vegetarian, Vegan & Non-GMO products, et al.
    Whoever orders for Beretania Safeway does a Poor Job of introducing new Vegan Organic products. When they do have new items, they never order enough, do not quickly restock said items or simply do not care.
    When I asked the Safeway Manager, he just blames it on shipping problems & promptly walks away & could care less. Your losing a lot of my business as well as others as we go to “Down To Earth“ Vegan market.
    Get with the Program Albertsons Safeway & notify Beretania Safeway Manager to appeal to the Vegetarians, Vegans, & people who want Gluten-Free, Non-GMO & Organic foods.
    Why not stand by YOUR ADVERTISING & KICKSTART 2021 w/ Healthy, Fresh Essentials?!?

  7. As of now I will no longer shop at Von’s, Albertson’s or Safeway because of your move to let go of your in-house union drivers to use outside source for delivery so that you can save a few bucks.
    I am so sorry that I did not do a thorough research on CA Prop 22. Doing away with jobs just because it will “save” you money is wrong, especially just to increase your bottom line (I’m sure you are not going to lower your costs) so that you can pay more to the Corporate Officers and your investors. I have lived long enough and have worked in the financial arena to know that this is exactly what happens. Damn the employees, and yet if you had no employees you would not have a business.
    I have found in my lifetime that if employers treat their employees with respect and care and pay them a living wage and benefits there would be no need for unions, but when companies/people like you choose to find a cheaper way to do business then you, as shown through history, is why unions are needed. But in this case, you have found (created) away around with doing away with a union job.
    You may be cutting these jobs only in California, at the moment, but I bet this will happen in other states as well. It is amazing how greed works.

  8. Just went into my local Albertson’s (Paso Robles, CA) and was shocked to see 7 people in the store not wearing a mask and allowed to check out. I think you’re aware of the environment that this fosters. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere until this is all over.

  9. I wanted to take this early opportunity to thank you for the well organized response to the COVID vaccine at Albertson’s Pharmacy on Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge Louisiana. I know from organizing many events as a manager of emergency rooms and critical care areas that good things happen when everyone is one the same page and supports the event. I have been in Albertsons in port orchard Olney road and have all most every visit witnessed huge shoplifting tonight in half hour their witnessed I major shoplifting suspects and tried to stop one in parking parking lot its gotten so bad one has to wonder how safe one is shopping if you will set by and let this kinda behavior go in punished what stops them from robbing customers of their purses and wallets or even strong armed robbery I am asking that Albertsons act on this to make are shopping at this Albertsons safer I will be contacting my local police department and are mayor and local news stations as agine this is out of control to the theft that is taking place people in here high on drugs and shoplifting as they wish when will they deside to start taking people’s purses and wallets as Albertsons stands by and does absolutely nothing I have had enough and whould hope someone in upper management whould Finley have enough also and take back your store and Make it safe family shopping your parking lot is not safe with this around the clock theft that goes in punished so agine like to see Albertsons bring in team of lost perventsion team and work with local county city and state police and shut this crime riddled store issues down before someone is shot and killed or stabbed stealing someone’s purses or wallets

  11. I was going to write about my displeasure at your recent decision in Texas to not require masks in your stores. It seems the above comments by others definitely indicates that I am not the only one with an issue with Albertsons. Just know that I live in Oregon and read about Texas in our local newspaper. Also, that I will definitely be boycotting your store, since if your management decisions essentially exhibit a disregard for science, and perhaps more importantly, in my opinion, of not caring about people, of not loving people, then such decisions are not one of life, but of encouraging and creating the conditions of death. My focus in life is to stay alive and live in a life-affirming way, and not to support businesses that essentially act in ways that encourage death, suffering, pain and sickness.

    • Mask wearing isn’t supported by science. In fact it’s more harmful to healthy individuals as it reduces oxygen, increases CO2, lowers pH leading to Acidosis, allows the virus which is ~1,000 times smaller than a human hair to enter the mask by inhaling and exhaling, furthermore it creates a moist environment, all of which allows pathogens to grow and since individuals repeatedly touch the mask and other things throughout the day, they contaminate and cross contaminate items. So Mask wearers are the Super Spreaders.

      The CDC, WHO, New England Journal of Medicine all came out last year decrying the use by healthy individuals. The ONLY reason we’re still told to wear them is 100% political.

      Stop wearing face masks if you’re healthy!

  12. I shopped using the free Instacart with delivery three times. First two times were sufficient snd final time was horrendous.

    -delivered an hour early without notification or even ringing doorbell (I was home)
    -receipt not provided
    -deliberate and illegal overcharging of five items (i.e. corned beef price on package was $15.12 but I was charged $20.88, etc.)
    -I had to fight with the local store and threaten to report them to management and to the local media before they responded and provide my refund. My refund totaled over $20
    -cancelled my membership
    -I provided photos to Albertsons with the actual prices on the items and it still took them 1/2 day to refund my money and never admitted any wrong doing.
    -because of the deliberate and illegal overcharging, I reduced my tip from 15% to 5%

    Albertsons needs to review its policies to ensure integrity. Albertsons on the app advertises for shoppers. One person should not be able to shop, check-out and deliver the items. Checks and balances need to be put in place My sister has had Walmart delivery for over a year and has weekly delivery. She’s only had a couple of minor issues that were resolved immediately. Walmart’s employee do the shopping and a third party delivers the food (separation of duties).

    Albertsons, you must do better and review your policies and do a better job in vetting your “shoppers” which are also your “delivery” personnel.

    This was an unnecessary and frustrating experience that I hope no one else has to experience

  13. I don’t like the way you are playing your monopoly game. What if a person doesn’t have a phone you can scan the monopoly tickets on. Its ridiculous. I’ve heard other people complain.

  14. Now you’ve got to a central processing center for prescriptions? Mine are supposed to come to Southwest Idaho from California. I was told “Albertsons is trying this system TO AVOID HIRING MORE HELP” by one of your employees

    If I need medication available for same-day pick up, they can pull my order back and fill it for me that day. Otherwise, my prescriptions will be ready in one day. I’m well aware that getting any product delivered from California to Southwest Idaho can take much longer than a day.

    If your new program causes me too much hassle, I’ll find a new pharmacy. I don’t have time to mess with additional “issues” for myself and my husband.

  15. Thanks for frustrating your customers once again this year with your monopoly game. You give away free products that are unavailable at your stores. That tends to piss off your customers. Maybe you just don’t care. Tried calling customer service . WHAT A JOKE!!
    Thank god I live in the USA and have choices where to spend my money.
